It’s been over a year (or was it two?) and I have still not learned 3D. My Goal was to master the AutoDesk Fusion 360 or Blender. Sadly, I only got as far as having the two Software installed, sprinkled with some bouts of half-hearted attempts in figuring out how to use it. And to be honest, having being so used to Trimble’s SketchUp, I am literally fighting with the mouse to unlearn what I had learned previously.

I am starting to hate 3D already. Its been a year (or was it two?) and I have nothing to show for my efforts. My Journey into both Autodesk Fusion and Blender only got as far as installing their software. Every attempt to learn meant hitting a wall since I was spoiled with SketchUp and it was quite a challenge to unlearn that. Still, all is not lost because…

Microsoft’s 3D Builder

.. I found another software, which I hope, will let me learn. It’s called Microsoft 3D Builder and you can go to their App Store here. Alas, plastered at the top of that page was the message, “This product is unavailable in your market.”. Which makes me more determined to get it.

The mention of this software came about in the Morning when one of my FB Friends mentioned using it to create beautiful models. And guess what? The Internet said that the 3D Builder is a wonderful software but not many 3D enthusiasts knew about it. Moreover, the App was on and off their App Store.

Is it Legal?

So, getting that Software proved to be a challenge since I’ve forgotten all about Softonic. And so, after some searching, I came across this Page which allows you to download the three installation files and they must be processed in sequence.

Whelp, this is what I see when I opened the software. There is no File Options or any other icons for me to click to start anything. So, I’ll have to, like the two previous 3D software search the Internet and YouTUbe for some guides…
Opening one of the Objects from its LIbrary. I do not know how to manipulate it other than to change views…

Summary

The Jury’s still out on this 3D builder. Once I have the time (ha ha) to look into this, maybe this could be the 3D tool for me (Har har har har…)
