So the LED spacer came and it does look a little short even if it was at 3mm. I remember there was a photo about the lighted side and showed the positioning of the light-source. I could not find it again and so, I had to use the screenshot below as reference.
Based on the screenshot of the movie, it seems that the side mandible LED would look more accurate if it was just soldered to the PCB directly (i.e. 0mm height). Actually, to me it would benefit from a 1mm stand and a 3mm LED with diffused lens instead. So, I am going to search my Works Room for that. Except the LED spacer which I will have to re-measure the height and order the item.
Are you high?
A typical height of a 5mm LED is 8.7mm (1mm collar and 7.7mm resin lens). Add that to the 3mm spacer, we’re looking at a 11.7mm height. But as shown above where the 0mm height LED position looked more accurate, lets have a brief calculation about the 3mm LED. Its typical height is 5.49mm (1mm collar + 4.49mm resin lens). I can stack two 3mm spacers to bring the 3mm LED up to 11.49mm.
After seeing the screenshot above, I am going to try with the height reduced to about 10mm and see if it matches the screenshot photo. To do this, I would therefore need a 3mm LED before confirming with the 4.5mm spacer.
