I have located the 3mm White LED and soldered onto another prototype PCB. This time, I have not modified the 3mm spacer but just used it as it is. Instead of the 10mm height I envisioned, my calipers said the height should be around the 9mm mark. This means, with the spacer, I would be getting 8.49mm, which is OK for me (the Spacer is 3mm, the LED is 5.49mm).
Using another prototype board, I soldered a 3mm white LED (which has a diffused lens) onto the circuit. Not sure if I have mentioned it but I have opted to connect all static lights to a dedicated off-the-shelf PWM module. This not only frees up mictroncontroller ports but is actually more or less, causes minimal flicker on a mobile phone’s video mode. This board has only one LED out of five as I only had time to solder the 3mm. Ha ha.
The 3mm LED with the 3mm spacer looks much closer to this screenshot image. I had to dim my Xiaomi’s T14 Pro exposure to show you the position of the LED within the mandible part. Do not be concerned if the other lights are not lit up as I did not solder them. I mean, we’re all rushing out for New Year’s Lunch. Hah.
