After some searching on the Internet, I realised that these containers are referred to as, “Conex Boxes” combined from Container and Express. Yeah they do exist. Many of the images were in black and white and I was searching for the correct paint. In the manual, it was Life Colour MMP-058 which if I am going to get the Mr. Color equivalent, it would be C109.

This is a virtual view of the Conex Box as seen from the SketchUp Warehouse. I thought the top was corrugated metal but it was flat.

Lighting

In the manual, you are required to glue two lights (hanging bulbs with lampshades). One of them would be roughly in the middle of the container and the other would be near to the doors. The problem with this scale is that any lighting solution would be too big. The smallest SMD LED, which is the 0402 (l=1.0mm, w=0.5mm) but it is too dim and the wiring to it would be thicker than the LED itself.

As I have mentioned in the earlier post, I am going to take advantage of the roof which is in two parts. Unlike ‘normal’ LEDs which comes in either diffused or clear lens, the SMD LEDs do not. Their viewing angle (light radiation) is wide but, if they are used as a light source and not as an indicator, their light is only effective within a few centimetres.

This is the viewing angles of the LED. For the 0805 SMD LED, it is about 120° to maybe, 170°.

I will have to make a shallow trench in B3 so that there is space for the thin wires. Then on the spot where the lamps are supposed to be, I will make two rectangular holes for them to shine through. The image on the right shows the whole assembly beign flipped over. Alternately, you can re-cast the lampshades Eb5 in clear, lightblock it except of the bulb, and use it like a shaped fibre-optic. This would mean the LED needs to be as bright as possible, say, 20mA. Since I do not have such resin, I am not going to pursue this theory. Moerover, in this humid country, clear resin/ epoxy/ plastic can turn brown in a very short time.
I got two 0805 SMD LEDs which throws out warm white light. Their lens are shaped in a semi-circle as this is a side-viewing LED. I cannot find the normal 0805 SMD LED (which offers much wider light radiation pattern) so they will have to do. Actually, I am using them because I want to simulate the light radiation similar to that of a bulb with a conical lampshade. As for the wires, I am using the 32AWG (0.38mm) which is much thinner compared to the conventional thicker 0.80mm version.

This is how it looked like when the LEDs are mounted on the ceiling (temporarily). Just look at the shadows on the shelves and hte refrigerator.
I am not sure how high Carl is, but this supposedly eight and a half feet high Conex Box has an interior height of seven feet eight inches tall. Anyway, look at the shadows cast by Carl.
I like this shot and just for fun, I lowered the exposure. Right now, they are bright but once the model is painted, especially with matte colours, most of the light would be absorbed. Anyway, this is the lighting effect when the LEDs are at 2mA.
Another view of the Conex Box interior where the gigantic Carl casts some very nice shadows.
Despite Carls’ height, this YouTube video shows that the Conex Box is tall enough without bumping into the ceiling.
