I have more or less figured out the lighting for the Cargo Bay. It might not be the ideal solution but for the time being, it is the best. The only issue is the manufacturing cost which is between USD100 to USD33,100 (yeah, you read that right). Still, I am going to finalise the design maybe by this weekend or, in April budget permitting.
NO ALCLADS HERE
In the meantime, I am going to test a few paints which I hope one of them will be robust enough to permit some careless handling. I have come to accept (apart from plastic chrome plating) that the hobby silver/aluminum/chrome paints will dull if I seal them with either clear lacquer or enamel prior to weathering.
The plan is to prime and spray the test paints onto plastic spoons and see how they fare. This is a very common method of testing paints by car and Gundam builders.
Extra Plus Metal #03 Aluminum, Mr. Color #159 Super Silver, Modo MK-03 (Super Real Silver and Hobbymate’s Chrome.
I have used Modo MK-08 before and they are very reflective. Maybe Hobbymate;s would be a strong contender too. My only worry is that both might not be able to withstand being sealed.
