The SMD LEDs I ordered some time ago has arrived just today. I have finished quite a lot of them and well, its either that or I’ve kept them somewhere else and forgot all about it.
20251020 Update
Instead of creating a new post, I am going to put it here. 20 days later, the soldering is completed. It took me that long because we had a huge issue at my Day Job. Everyone was busy trying to get everything back up to spec so that we can re-open again. And with today’s Public Holiday, I was able to solder the wires to the PCB, which was a simple 10 to 15 minutes job.
The ‘Something wrong” Problem
The Video above more of less shows how the top revolving siren works. But if you look at the Video closely, you will notice that the sequence has an issue at the 10 o’clock position. After looking at it in more detail, it seemed that the revolving siren actually uses SIX LEDs and not Five. This important detail somehow escaped me when I was revisiting the Project after so many years. I kept thinking that the circuit was from the smaller two microcontrollers which has only 5 outputs. Instead, it was from the bigger microcontroller.
Why is it taking so long?
Once again, I am going on a rant here because of my habit and circumstances of rotating Projects in Cold Storage while I tackle another. Coupled with misplaced notes and my memory, this causes a lot of stupid delay and costs. For this Project, it would have been completed sometime in 2020, Pandemic or no. However, this is not possible since I have to make sure my Day Job is still there and also, Life. I wished I had the resources to get a few Engineers on Board to complete the Projects to fruition even though the monetary compensation is negligible.
