WHERE DID IT GO?

One of the problems when I am working on projects, especially on scale models which has a lot of tiny parts, is that I either loose them or, it went ‘missing’. Yeah, the term ‘missing’ is a safer word since I cannot blame anyone in the house as it was my fault for moving away from the Works Room and into the Family Lounge. There were so much debris in there, I would not be surprised it it hid itself in there after a few minutes. It does not help if I have boxes to keep them as they will go missing whether I want them to or not.

GOING ON A LONGSHOT

The part that is not with me, is part #B23 from the Revell’s Razor Crest. This is the front wall which doubles as the toilet wall and Din Djarin’s Sleeping quarters. It is also the part which I am evaluating on how to light it. Because of its location, there are three types of lighting involved:
1. The Toilet Wall light,
2. The Pair of red lights located at the ‘chin’ of the ship, and
3. The front landing bay light.

So, it deserves a Circuit Board (PCB).

But it does not deserved to be lost. And it is my fault too. Anyway, there and then, I have two options, actually three but the third is not fair to everyone.

THE FIRST OPTION

This is the best and fastest option. But it is also, very time consuming. It means I have to track down and purchase another copy of the Revell Razor Crest. I do not mind the delay but the cost of getting another model because of one missing part will not go down well with my other half. Moreover, I was on a very tight budget since I just started work again.

So, I have a few options. One is to get another Revell model (and face the wrath of my Wife), reconstruct from memory (and pruce and inaccurate PCB) or, just give up the lighting.

THE SECOND OPTION

I have heard about model companies having a Customer Service Division where you can get in touch with them for parts replacement. I did that years ago, with Moebius when I lost the front part of their 1/32 TOS Cylon Raider while rushing to display it in the MMHS show. So, I decided to give Revell a shot.

A FEW WEEKS LATER

I was elated to receive a reply from Mr. Michael Schmee from Revell.de’s Service Team who gladly replaced the part at no cost! And in less than three weeks, the part arrived. Thanks to him, my project was saved. I originally wanted to abandon the lighting part but now, I am able to continue.

When I came home from work, I was pleasantly surprised with this parcel. It was so well protected too.
And here it is! Part #B23!
