DIY LED Lights

Thanks to Kenwin, it is now possible to convert or even light up your display cabinet with LED lights. In most lighting solutions, the halogen Light was the only choice due to its brightness and intensity. The wiring you’re seeing here is Malaysian but it more or less gives you the idea what the project entails.

However if you want to display plastic items such as toys, model kits and stuff that are sensitive to heat, Halogens are a no-no. I have witness a the saucer of a beautiful Enterprise model turned to brown, then warped and eventually melted due to being exposed to the Halogen light 12 hours a day.

So, the next best thing would be a warm white ‘bullet’ LED just like what is shown in the link below since the author was reworking an existing lighting system from 240v AC to suit the LED’s 12v DC voltages. You can get these 12volts ‘bullet’ LED in Pasar Road nowadays. But if you’re starting from scratch, your choice of LED lighting is even more.
