‘ON THE WAY’
Finally, I found a shop which is more or less ‘on the way’. It is close to one of my errands which means I can get someone to pick it up if I cannot make it. It is always a challenge when I need to match any shop’s opening times with my work schedules. Sometimes, I have to wait for a fortnight before I can physically walk into the shops. In other words, when I am free, they are not open. And this is bugging me since mid-2000’s.
THE PROBLEM WITH LOCAL SOLUTIONS
I want to bring up this topic again, when it comes to sourcing resources locally. One, they usually need you to commit some four figure MOQs (Minimum Order Quantity) to make it worthwhile for them. Two, they might have the solution but unwilling to risk their machines for you.

But today, I am happy to report that the Sales Manager, Ms. Loh knows what I want and did go to great lengths to accommodate my queries. She explained and showed me lots of samples and finally, we both agreed the PVC matte printing is the solution. White base printing on a clear PVC did excite me but she explained that I would need to create a separate layer for the white alone. It is a bit risky for me as I have never done a separate white layer before although it looked very easy.
In the end, I went with printing each A4 design twice to make up for the A3 paper; one for the MkVII and one for the TR-595E. I can pick the printouts between Tuesday and Thursday as their machine is off-site. Anyway, I paid RM36.00 (or around USD8.00) and hoped for good news.
