20220920 Visiting ATT Angel Trend Trading

It’s been ages since I had a ‘Me’ time and so, I decided to go to ATT Angel Trend. Plus, since the Restaurant suddenly announced it was closed today, I had the whole day to myself and there are other places I wanted to go as well. But for some strange reason, I felt quite lethargic. And so, only Angel Trend it is.

THE CHOPPER II

The first thing I need is to get some serious tools which is the Chopper II that I was eyeing since many years ago. I am literally quite annoyed nowadays with the uneven cutting of plastic sheets. I either spend more to get better blades and rulers or just get the Chopper and end my misery.

What I liked about the took is its simplistic design which also comes with a very heavy and steady base.
Mr Alex gave me a very good discount and two additional blades as well!
Just look at the clean cut. All it took was a pull of the handle.

THE CIRCULAR CUTTER

Next up is this Circular cutter which I loved every since I saw in on a YouTube video years ago. An Original veriosn would cost the double of this.
Again, I got a very good price on this Mr. Alex’s discount are actually very generous and I am grateful.
He also gave me a spare blade too. The plotter-type blade designs are very similar to the pen cutters I got some time back.
The assembly of the Circular cutter is quite simple and the only issue would be the spring which holds the cutting blade.
And that by itself is an ingenious design.
Once assembled, the circular cutter is ready for some action!
The first test was on a masking tape and it takes some trial and error.
After the third try, I was successful!
For the time being, I had to make sure how the blade direction was pointed as it keeps picking up the snags at the edge of the masking tape.

Make sure you know how to store the circular cutter

I am very happy with the Circular cutter and after the third try, here are some observations:
1. You might need to lubricate the blade stalk so that it might spin freely during cutting.
2. You might need to ‘test’run’ the cutter to see if can cut the circle that you need. While doing so, lift the cutter a few mm of the surface.
3. On the Circular cutter’s ruler measurement, you are measuring the circle’s RADIUS and not the DIAMETER. So, if the circle you need to cut out is 10mm, dial in 5mm.
4. As for storage, for the meantime, I will place it upside down in a drawer until I can find a nice foam piece for it.

THE AL{PHA 01 FROM PUAKA CUSTOMS

Years ago, Puaka Customs, created some very nice laser-cut acrylics for 1/100 models. They were sold through Becky Customizer and ATT. This was one particular model which I always wanted because its design can easily be converted into a cockpit of a spaceship or a tug. Never mind the thickness of the material. Although I felt 0.8mm would be great. But it is no point since the design was based off on 1.5mm.

The concept of Puaka Customs models is a very straight forward assembly.
This is how the model looks like when assembled.
All you need to do is to slot in each piece into the ready made slots. Some would require you to hold them together wile you interlock with the third or fourth piece.
I guess you can use SuperGlue (CA) but I used Plastic Magic instead. And this is how big the model is, which can easily fit in about three 1/100 figures in there.
If you can still find the other four Alpha series model, you can then combine it into a very nice tower.
