Well, this is disappointing. The TP4057 USB-C charger module what arrived this afternoon has a problem. I do not mind that they have changed one of the LEDs to green instead of blue. What I am not happy is that the board is slightly bigger than the earlier ones. I am not sure what happened as the image on the Website showed exactly like the one I had previously bought.

What can I do?

Honestly, there is not much I can do except to bitch about it. The module which I bought in 2023 uses a TP4056 chip and is now hard to find. The latest would be the TP4057 version. The only difference is that the TP4057 offers a 500mA charging current as opposed to TP4056’s better 1000mA. But that would not be a problem since the LiPo batteries that fits into the Clip is quite small and therefore, its capacity would not exceed 350mA. With today’s event, it is time to re-design the charger board again. I mean, it still has to be done anyway, with or without the mistake as the TP4057 is now on the market while the TP4056 version is becoming obscenely expensive.

I ordered 30 pieces of the TP4057 charger and it arrived like this. The other two was torn off as separate pieces. So now I know how these were manufactured. Unlike the TP4056 which has a blue LED for ‘charging complete’ status, the TP4057 is green.
The size difference is quite significant and so, I have to redesign the PCB again. This will take time but there is nothing else I can do apart from letting the user get their own LiPo charger.

Where to get what (no, not the Boards and I have not produced them, not even a link to sell them yet):
