OK, with a heavy heart, I have committed to the manufacturer to do the ceiling PCBs and I will get them in two weeks time. Its quite expensive and I really need to recover the cash asap before my Wife finds out and before our actual Family trip in August.
However, there are two other problems with will definitely stop this project.
- I really do not have the funds to make the rest of the five PCBs since they would cost more than I can ever get a loan for. Once you add in the components, the cost is frightening. I was hoping to get the Viper Boards out of the door but so far, this is not happening.
- The PCB design depended on the LEDs. If I use the current LEDs on the market, I can save some but because of their shapes, the cost of making the PCBs would go up and is harder to solder too. Or, I could search for the original LEDs (which is already obsolete) which might cost more but the manufacturing of the PCB would be cheaper and easier for me to solder them.
Sigh. I have thought of Kickstarter but this would mean taking on a full time job to do this, something which I am not ready to do since I really do not have anyone to help on this.
