This is an original design by Scott Nakada who called it the Scanny Boxy Thing aka the SPU (Spatial Parametric Uplink), a prop for his Movie, Starship Echelon which is still in development. For those who are well versed in the Star Trek Universe, this design is like a mix between a Starfleet 2280 Tricorder and its Klingon counterpart. Incidentally, both originated from the Star Trek III Movie.
How much, please?
The whole prop was designed as a 3D print and you can get the .stl file from him. From his Facebook post, the 3D test prints do look promising. However, from the images, there are no indication of the print’s size unless it was designed to follow that of the Tricorder in Star Trek III, which is hand-held size.
