This is going to be the definitive 2nd revision of the Board. Back in about November 2019, after getting the first version of the Board from JLCPCB, the plan was just a matter of fine-tuning it for the next revision. Some components needs to be moved a smidgen for soldering, fitting, etc. It was all going to plan until I received the second batch of those green connectors. One of the orange tabs was too soft and when I pushed it downwards, the plastic just collapsed. Just to make sure it was a bad unit, I ordered another batch, from another supplier and the wasn’t any better. It got me to thinking that in the long run, these connectors can become very unreliable, what with temperature changes and humidity in different countries.
Therefore, I decided to revert back to the more reliable screw terminals. However, it can become loose due to potential vibrations and width-wise, actually take up less space. It is also a good time to widen the rear of the board a little so that the 5 thruster LEDs can fit into the cavity without having to bend the LEDs which then juts out at an angle. And just for fun, I am adding some off-the-shelf PWM modules for the static lights so that I can adjust their brightness within the model rather than having to open it up, take out the chip and re-programming with a PC plus programmer. One would be for the front mandibles and one for the interior cockpit.
