The number of Spinners

So, how accurate is the Master Replicas aka Sideshow Collectibles aka Insight Editions 2049 Spinner? For the past two decades, the larger Spinner models came out from various sources such as Randy Cooper (1/12th), Medicom (1/18th), and Fujimi (1/24th). And just recently, it was the heft ~1/22 from MR/ SC/ IE. And yes, most were up in arms about its colour and lack of opening doors, etc.

The Reference Source

But for me, since I have one now, my main question is, how accurate is it? The following blueprint was used to create the life-size prop in the Movie and would be about 8’11” in length. This was how I got the scale of the MR/ SC/ IE Spinner (~1/22) and the Threezero’s 3.75″ (1/49) (assuming the scale of the Fujimi (1/24) is correct, which I did not measure). But seriously, I am not going to go ga-ga on this. Rather, I am more interested in the overall shape of the Vehicle. I’ve been staring so long at it, it’s starting to look more like a squashed frog…

This is a copy of the original blueprint from Silodrome which could be going for USD300 to USD500.

At first glance, the MR/ SC/ IE Spinner on the left looked too long when put side by side with the Medicom. Thanks to E. Francis Kohler, the former actually looked much more accurate, much to my biased surprise.

Barrett Ryer then took the same image and superimposed them which proved that the MR/ SC/ IE Spinner is much more accurate. As for side profile, we shall see if the above good Gentlemen would do the honors.

I used Photofiltre and Inkscape to produce this superimposed image. Once I adjusted the images length-wise and tilted it a little, it kinda looked OK more or less. Except for the door’s side details. So, yeah, the MR/ SC/ IE Spinner shape is good.
