I have bought quite a lot of things during my last two MALCOM participations. Therefore, in the next few posts, I will share some of the items with you. Some items would be from last year, which I have yet to use and some, would be the ‘latest’ 2026 products from the participating vendors. Opening the Box/es of haulz, I was shocked to learn of all the treasures I have accumulated and yet to use more than an quarter of them. Can I promise myself to make more models than just electronics?
Tori Factory (2026)
My collection of their figures has grown over the years. And this was quite apparent when I opened my ‘figures’ box to put in recent purchases away. This year, I was hoping Mr. Han from Tori Factory would bring in his latest figures from the Lazy Cat series to MALCOM2026. And he did not disappoint. I was able to get a few of them with my limited cash (because a lot, if not all, non-Malaysian or International Booths were limited to transacting in local currency. I wished they had or, were equipped with, or even, allowed to rent, cashless terminals)
But, you cannot clean them with Water.
The Lazy Cat series is a very different line of figures from Mr. Han. Their fashion or outfit pushes the design into the Sci-Fi category, maybe Cyberpunk 3077 genre. I am not sure how to describe them but over the years, I have seen a lot of these Techwear designs and photos on Pinterest and they, are remarkable. The Mashinen Krieger World, to me, is mostly a ‘beyond the World War II’ era so, the most advanced uniform or work wear would be, slimmed down astronaut suits, post-WWII fashion/ uniforms and with the skin-tight body suits just being the extreme. It would be a challenge to integrate these Lazy Cat figures without modifications. Then again, I just love these figures and they’re so good, they can actually stand by themselves.
Brant (Series One)
Right off the bat, you’d notice Brant is some kind of a leader. Not because he is tall but rather, his standing pose with his hands to the pockets and well, a serious looking face helps with the first impression.
Vivian (Series One)
Just like Brant, she is wearing almost the same pants. For me, if the First Series depicts all the members as a Group, I’d say she is the introverted Second in command, right after Brant.
Jessica (Series Two)
All the figures in Series Two does not relate much to the First Series, except for, I think Kate and Riley. And so, Jessica well, is just, Jessica. Because of her sitting pose, I would like to think of her as some kind of a test pilot and rebel. If I had enough cash on the day, I would have gotten her at 1/20th scale too.
