20260712 Border Models’s 1/35 ZTZ PLA 100

This is a very interesting friction-fit model kit from Border Models. I am not sure what it is suppose to do but after watching the YouTube video (below) I must say, I am quite impressed with them putting bearings into the wheels and making the tracks quite robust. However, to me, there is a weak point in the sense that the model is relying on the plastic’s elasticity to act as suspension, something which I had a very bad experience with MENG’s PLZ 155mm self-propelled Howitzer. Which, if you need to know, became a kit-bash mule of sorts.

Anyway, despite the accessories such as unmanned vehicles & ‘Robot Wolves’ and a pre-painted digital camouflage, the absence of an interior makes me hesitate for a bit. I have made a Tesla Trooper and I am suite happy with their quality so far. Still, they are not the only ones as TAKOM is also tackling on the same subject but with a more ‘traditional’ approach to modelling.

A comparison between the two brands, Border Models and TAKOM.
