Our office was ordered to close down for almost a month. And so, this gave me the opportunity to catch on the Proton Pack. It’s been getting on and to be honest, ol’ lazy me has gotten bored of this whole thing. In the beginning, I was concentrating on the software side since copying to programming from the actual design was not as simple as it seemed. For one, the original microcontroller which was the PIC16F883 had changed to a slightly smaller PIC16F628A because trying to fit 15 small LEDs into Power Cell’s small window is quite impossible. And we’re talking about the oh so tiny 0402 ones. (I am not even going to touch those freaking liliputian 0201 anytime soon, which is the answer but there is a limit to all theis before going insane).
Unfortunately, due to some ludicrous decisions at work which is beyond my control and comprehension, what was a simple job turned into a disheartening monumental challenge of insignificant donkey work. And thus, it was also the time I realised, I had completely forgotten about replacing the power supply to the reflow hot plate.
