Did I mention that I am very bad at painting models? No? Well, I am very bad at painting models, even when I am using the airbrush. I seldom had the chance to practice as I was always either working or, designing and testing circuits. Understandably, when it came to airbrushing stuff, it always starts with the usual noob mistakes. At the end of the day, I think I used more thinner to clean up mistakes than diluting paints. Tonight is the night where I will start my experiments with the various metallic paints. And tonight is also where my airbrush compressor broke.
The sir year old compressor was getting on since two years ago. During airbrushing, when there was no built-up pressure, it kinda shuts off by itself. And tonight was the usual tomfoolery. Until I filled the cup with thinned black primer and it very nicely went kaput. A few minutes of trouble-shooting showed the 12volt power adaptor is not doing its job. A quick swap with a 9volt adaptor brought the compressor back but in a semi-comatose state (or should I say, asthmatic state?) way. This would be the second time the adaptor gave up the ghost. For the time being, I am going to order another 12volt adaptor as it is the cheaper option.
Honestly, I think it’s time to get a sturdier compressor, complete with a serious tank and some big ass dehumidfiers. Unfortunately, for the time being, my schedule for the Razor Crest will be seriously set back to maybe a few more months…
