My first favourite on big robot model kits were the Dougram. It does not matter as we did not get the chance to watch any animes here (Well, they’re hard to get during the Pre-Internet days). It was not until my classmate, Jeremy Chuah, showed me his big Dougram model which his Dad got for him from his trip to Japan did I really wanted on. I did have some 1/48 Soltic (but it all disappeared now) but the Dougram was my favourite, mostly because of its ‘head’. And sometimes, revisiting your childhood is very expensive. Just look at the crazy prices on eBay.
But now, thanks to Max Factory (of the Figma fame), they are going to come out as the 1/72 scale, (which is 13.5cm) snap-fit models with poly-cap joints. Yeah, I was hoping it would be the bigger 1/48 scale, though. Anyway, hop on to Hobby Search for more pictures.
