The Raytheon Effect

For those who has been building either/both the NCC-1701A model from AMT and Polar Lights, you would notice that certain lighting effects were impossible to recreate mainly because they were did not come from the model itself. It was not until a Forum member who went by the name Raytheon who came up with an out-of-the-box solution:

How it goes was, he created a lightbox inside the model, then using lightblocking material such as foil, shaped a pattern similar to a spotlight inside it. When the model is lit from inside the saucer, you’d think that the light came from the dome, just like in the movies.

I read it somewhere that since there was some Legal implications of using the Copyrighted name of Raytheon, the gentleman has gone back to using his real name. So, head on over to his website and just let your jaw drop to the floor….
