MMHS or Malcom is now in its 10th year, a far cry from when it was just starting. There were a lot of stories behind it and what nots, from the struggles to friendships history but then again, scale modeling is no different from any other genre groups.
IS THIS WONDERFEST?
In the 2-day event, there are gathering of friends, people staying at the Hotel, dealer tables, workshops, cosplays, special groups and the most important of all, the Scale modeling competition. If people asks me what its all about, I would just probably compare this to America’s WonderFest, but on a much smaller scale.
But of you ask me, “Is this like WonderFest Japan?” then I would say, “No“. Not by a long shot because WonderFest Japan works on a very different concept where all Manufacturers/ Copyright Holders suspend their rights for a few days so that Fans can show/ sell their work.
WHO VISITS THIS PLACE?
I would like to make this my Annual Pilgrimage up North but it is quite exhausting. The first time I tried was a few years ago when I was given a Table, which I still do not understand why. I do have my suspicions but hey, its a table. That was the first and only time which I was lucky enough to showcase my work which I had a lot of time because of working alone in another state.
Nowadays, the only thing I am looking forward to is because we are able to visit the Penang State as a Family and also try out some of the Food that was shown on Facebook. But this time, it is different as I am not sure if I am able to make it since my Work is hinting on sending me to a Course which might coincide with the event. Unless, my Gout flares up, which is just what it’s doing to my left foot…
