Testing, 1, 2, 3…
Whenever I can, I would embed images into my posts as IMO they tend to convey better information to the reader. The only issue is that like all Websites, someone has to save these images into their storage system and host them. Since I have my own Website, it was therefore not possible to store these images economically. The only solution would be to use Google Photos that comes with a 15Gb storage limit.
The problem with Google Photos is that I cannot direct link them from my Website due to ‘User Experience’ and Security reasons. In the end, I resorted to using Labnol, which converts that Shareable Image Link online into a format which I can embed on my Website. Using Labnol was great as this really solves a lot of my problems when I have a lot of images to embed. But in most cases, I would need to clear their Captchas, which comes in the form of a visual password.
The reason for this Captcha is to limit user access with that visual ‘game’. Yeah, I call it a game because, right now, there is an average of 6 Levels you need to pass before it allows you to generate that so much needed embed link. Last two years, at most, it was about two Levels. Imagine the frustration which you need to go through 6 Captchas per image. Yeah, I was like, one down, 34 more to go…
What could have been a 30 minute easy job turned into hours and by midnight, I was feeling raw.
ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION
In the end, I saw this solution where:
- Get the shareable Link from Google Photos
- Paste that into you Web Browser
- Click on the image to zoom it up or,
- Right click on that image to get that new image link
So, if you can see the image above, it means that the tip worked. This is the image where I took Arky’s original TR-595E decals and modified it further.
