20251124 Spinner: Front Mandible PCB ver 03 Update

Wow. It’s been almost one month and this circuit board is not here! Then I realised due to my forgetfulness, I did not upload the file to JLCPCB in October and so, I guess I’ll be able to test it come December.

October was a big hoo-ha month as we had to ‘close’ due to some issues. The amount of rectification and chaos that ensued really gave me some restless nights. With no daily income, there was the fear that some of us could be laid off or even, transferred away. But that’s all in the past now and despite most things are up to spec, some of us are still picking up the pieces. Even as I am tryping this, I still have reports/ assessment to submit.

Any improvements?

Well, I decided to go with SMD resistors and that’s that. With less than 6 months to go, I have to decide if I want to participate in Malcolm 2026 or prepare the Razor Crest lighting for Production. In the meantime, after looking at the last revision, I was thinking of using the empty space in the PCB as heatsink with copper tracks but due to time constraint, I decided not to.

The PCB was designed so that it can be used on both sides. And the thickness of 0.8mm makes sure it does not interfere with the wheels despite me not able to locate the parts for the test fit. They are somewhere in storage but its getting more difficult to remember where they are as days go by…
