That’s how long this Project was kept away! The last entry was on 04.08.2024 and the board revision was v004D. Now, it is v005B! Currently, the issue is that I would need to decide on the proper red LED before starting on the programming.
The Switch
Because of the design of the board, there is no ON/OFF switch though. It would be great but there are no ‘details’ in this Pack that could act as a push button switch cover. Using magnets would be the next idea but this would mean having to carry a magnet all the time. So (for now), the Proton Pack works when you plug in a fully-charged battery.
Rather than waste time on which LED to use, I combined both 3528 SMD and 4mm LED solder pads into one single location (green). Not only that, I felt that by being a ‘nice guy’ to accommodate the possibilities of using JST PH (2.0mm), XH (2.54mm) and micro (1.25mm) connectors is just a waste of PCB real estate. So, I just use the latter (yellow) and that’s that. Then I don’t have to stress about moving resistors R9 and R12 so that they would not block the 2.0mm and 2.54mm connectorsI have sent this design off to JLCPCB and once they arrive, I would be happy to test them. Then again, it might take some time since I have some other Projects to rush through. Anyone want to pay me to just sit at home and do stuff like these? Ha ha ha.
