It sucked when there is no Job but the irony is, there is so much things to do. More so when I had to pick up things from where I left off.
This is the third revision or re-design of the Arky Top Panel PCB. The last revision was supposed to the be final version except for two flaws:
1. The piggyback connector was of the wrong size and there was no planned connections, and
2. The link from the four Amber LEDs to the Ground somehow did not connect despite the auto-correct saying the board is OK.
THE REVISIONS
While correcting the errors, I also too the opportunity to re-design the following:
1. JLCPCB’s minimum via size is 5mm and so, I decided to use that. EaglePCB’s 0.7mm vias suddenly seem to be gigantic. This size reduction allows me to reclaim some PCB real estate and more parallel lines.
2. Bigger solder pads for the variable resistor. This was such a hassle to solder and many drops of solder flux were used.
3. Longer solder pads for the 5730 LED. The extra space lets me melt the solder and not invent hand reflow soldering.
