A3, A3 where art thou, A3?

20230208 Blade Runner Spinner: A3, A3 where art thou, A3?

It’s time like these that I wished I had my original circuit diagram in A3 size. Boy, the A4 version are really testing my eyesight.

This is the circuit diagram for the Fujimi 1/24 Blade Runner Spinner. It runs off three microcontrollers for the different lighting effects. At the last count, according to this sheet of A4, there are about 65 LEDs using a theoretical 1.17A of current.

There is an issue with the Laser Printer which made the A4 printout even worse

HOW TIMES (HAVE) CHANGES

Fast forward more than after four years, and looking back at the diagram, there might be some changes. However, because the main board has been created and works, I would leave that alone. If a version 2 comes out, it would be because of slight re-positioning of some components. But truth to be told, this was more or less the board using manual placement of the tracks. So, if I need to redo the PCB with auto-routing, it would be version 3 but, nah.

So, this would be more on the LED level, especially on the Spinner’s interior cabin and most probably, the side thrusters.

THERE ARE… 65 LIGHTS!

I can tell you that there would be a lot of wires running inside the model. This would put a damper on my plans of making Deckard’s head move side to side. But since we’re here. Let’s take a brief look at the roof lights. If you watch there are a lot of images out there but for accuracy’s sake, I am taking screenshots from the Movie. The only time I needed the external reference would be the lights at the rear of the roof.

There problem with KIV projects is that now it has a gap of years.
I tend to lose production notes and stuff. This is also the part which I worry a lot. There are about 20 LEDs on this roof, and I need to refer back to the circuit if they were all accounted for. I worry I have missed the one of the rear-facing A parts in C7 and C8.
18 LEDs, right? Inside part C6, there are 8 LEDs in there too! And I might have missed one of the LEDs in there.
Anyway, the colouring of the LEDs lights are based on the screenshot from the Movie and also (for the rear lights) Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, Washington.
