In my usual programming method, I always transfer the microcontroller chip from one socket adaptor to the other and back again. This means the legs of the Chip is work and sometimes, bent. In most times, I could never tell if the chip is firmly connected or not.

This is not helping when I am trouble-shooting a program.

HERE COMES THE SOLDER

Out of frustration, I soldered the Chip onto a small SOIC to DIL PCB. The Pro side means that the soldered connection is now 100% reliable, leaving me to concentrate on my programming stupidity. The Cons side? Well, for one, you cannot use the chip with the original adaptor as its legs are now covered with solder.

Yeah, the soldering is ugly as the small adaptor PCB’s solder area kinda degraded.
The solder flux was not effective at all in removing the corrosion.
