20240701 Lighting for the AndersFP Blaster Pt.06

The version 4.01 board arrived last week and I had to wait for a little more for the red 5mm Top Hat LEDs to arrive as well. And so, after some soldering, the board is ready for testing. Getting this board populated was a heck frustrating since most of the components arrived right smack in the middle of the move. And as expected, finding them was really frustrating. Each part was stored in different boxes as they came at different times during the packing.

The Changes

Version 3.0 and 4.01 boards share the same circuit and so, their differences are actually physical:

  1. 4.01 is slightly longer as I need to move the CR2032 battery further so as not to block LED 2’s legs.
    2. 4.01 rectangular cavities has been enlarged so that LEDs 1 & 2 are easier to bend.
    3. The MODE switch has been changed from SMD version to DIP version. The SMD version does tear away from the board if I switched it too often.

This is the version 4.01 Board and well, it does fit the AndersFP 3D printed Clip nicely.
I am going to test it some more as the DIP MODE switch is somewhat blocking the ISP programming test clip, so for the next board, the switch might have moved about 1mm further up.

What Next?

I am tempted to do version 5.0 but right now, I am going to draft up the instruction manual first. At the same time, gather resources to make a run of the boards. Once my Friend has set up a Link to sell, I’ll let you guys know on the link. But I wonder, how much should I sell for this? And if I really do the Ghost version, how much is that too?
