Finally, I managed to test the two boards over the weekend and I am happy to say, I can now into Production Stage!
But first things first
This stage is quite dangerous and can kill the Project entirely. Yep, financing. I have calculated the BOM (Bill of Materials) and it is quite a big sum. Despite some savings left aside, it is still going to be a hurdle. So, hopefully, I can sell off a few model kits to get this moving. If all things go well, I hope to get this out before 2024 ends. Maybe.
The Manual and Sweating in the Shop
I am almost close to finalising the manual. However, there would not be a Ghost version since everything from mounting the Board to modifying it are the same. This reduced a lot of work and I do not have to repeat everything. The next thing would be to proof-read it and also look for a vendor who can do print in colour. The last vendor, I am sure, has already shifted and that was more than 12 years ago…
The most exciting part for me would be the soldering and I am tempted to use the hot plate. But a re-flow solder mask is not exactly cheap. Still, the numbers points to re-flow as the amount of time saved is significant. The only issue would be QC, which I have to be very careful since my hot plate is not exactly Industrial standard.
And now, the Video:
Where to get what (no, not the Boards and I have not produced them, not even a link to sell them yet):
