Finally, this little tool came. I always gripe about having to use the solder paste and resin flux syringes which were too long for my thumb. Not using them frequently means the plunger is always at the high end.

Two years ago, I was tempted to get some of those aluminum plungers which were quite abundant. Then I realised, I would be merely swapping out the plastic plunger for a metal version and the problem would still persist.

This was the dispenser which I really wanted. Looking at the construction, it has auto reset so you do not have to twist any bolts. But the downside was, chances are, you’d need to transfer your solder paste or flux into their own syringe. And it does cost a lot. Then again, you’re buying for their solution.
This is what I got instead for MYR17.00
A unique contraption made from a mixture of metal and plastic.
The first thing I need to do is to unscrew the long metal bolt and then turn it upside down.
Best of all is that I do not need to transfer the contents to a specialised container
Then I insert the syringe into the receptacle ring and screw in the bolt until it touches the base of the syringe’s seal. Depending on how you need the trigger angle to be, the main key would be how much you twist the bolt.
It feels quite nice in the hand but, I am wary of the plastic quality on the long run.
So, I am testing this on the Solder Flux first and to me, this is the comfortable trigger angle. But the more you dispense, the more you’d need to twist the bolt to reset the trigger. The first pump really did dispense the flux almost effortlessly using my index and/or middle finger. Try not to press too hard or let some heavy object rest on it.

So, this dispenser is quite fun to use and I might get a second one later if I need to swap the syringes often. By now, I am very sure the metal versions would be on the market as well.
