Star Trek:Into Darkness is a great movie. Really.
What I hate was those who complained about it not being accurate to TOS or even measure up to William Shatner’s Kirk and even hated the JJPrise. Well, sucks to be you.
This is a franchise reboot and what better to start off in an alternate timeline.
I know I am going to lose a lot of friends over this but c’mon, people. TOS is over. And to be honest, try as I might and even force myself to, its very difficult to even like those 70’s campy long winded episodes with garish coloured sets. Even when I was small, I really had to turn off the TV and that was not even remotely difficult although you are an addict. So, I am not even going to try anymore.
The only TOS I liked was when they went to the Silver Screen and that’s it. So, just accept it as it comes out. With every new franchise, they try to get in new people and different themes that reflects the thinking of that era. And it has nothing to do with making you happy. Those who keep on repeating about how good this series was, or even the designs of ships and whatnots are just stuck or even trapped in that time.
In the meantime, the Franchise just moves on. So yeah, JJAbrams is the best there is at the moment, like it or not. And it took so little for me to like this new ‘TOS’ although I am more biased to the modern Politically Correct TNG and Voyager.
